Veneers

Teeth that are badly stained, misshapen or misaligned may be improved by a veneer placed on the surface of the affected teeth.

Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic cemented over the front of your teeth to change their colour or shape. Porcelain veneers have a longer life expectancy and colour stability than composite bonding veneers and are highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even tobacco.

Veneers are usually made by a dental lab technician working from a model provided by your dentist.

Porcelain veneers can cover undesirable defects caused by an injury, a root-canal procedure or the use of tetracycline antibiotics. Veneers are ideal for masking discoloured fillings, closing gaps between front teeth or restoring chipped and worn teeth. For certain patients, no preparation of the teeth may be necessary.
