What are dental implants?
Implants are artificial roots that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root. Implants are anchored to the jawbone and act as a foundation for artificial teeth like permanent crowns or bridges. In some cases, implants can be used to attach dentures.
What are implants made of?
Implants are so well designed that they mimic the look and feel of natural teeth. Implants are usually made of a synthetic, biocompatible material such as metal or ceramic.
What is involved?
We prepare the area for the implant and place it in the mouth during a short appointment. Following the procedure, a period of time is required for the area to heal and for the implant to intergrade into the bone.
